Dear Parents and Guardians
We are off to a rigorous start this 2010 year as we continue to move forward in helping your child reach their academic goals! Every child at Dr. J. A. Garcia Elementary has the potential to "reach for the stars" towards excellence. Together we can make a difference in your child's education! Your continued support is important and very much appreciated. Our students need to know that we will only expect the best from them!
During the month of January, students in K - 2nd will be assessed individually with the Texas Primary Reading Inventory (TPRI) and this assessment measures academic growth in Reading. If your child in K - 2nd has been recommended to stay for tutoring, please continue with this available assistance.
Our students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th are preparing for the upcoming TAKS assessment in March and April. All students in grades 3 -5 stay for after school tutorials on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Thank you for supporting our tutorial program this school year!
